TUTO : hack handle knot
Today, a DIY "hack" to transform the sleeves of a top or a bodysuit!
Ultra easy, it will be your ideal tuto for a first contact with sewing (and also perfect to initiate a teenager to the sewing machine during the vacations), or to transform a garment in last minute before going out ❤️
👉For this DIY you need:
- a top with long or three quarter sleeves
- a sewing machine
- grosgrain tape (here about 3 m)
- pins
👉 How todo it?
Easy peasy! First cut the sleeves to the desired length, hem if necessary or fold inward. Pin your ribbon to the sleeve, being careful to leave the opening where you want the ribbon to tie. Stitch straight down the middle of the ribbon all the way around the sleeve, then move the fabric under the machine to stitch straight down again, 5 mm from the inside edge of the ribbon.
Do the same on the other side, positioning the ribbon identically, in mirror image. You can make a nice finish with two small hems on 5 mm at the end of your ribbons.
Make pretty bows... and... TA-DA!!!
