TUTO: hack handle knot

Today, a DIY hack to transform the sleeves of a top or bodysuit!

Ultra-easy, it will be your ideal tutorial for a first contact with sewing (and also perfect to introduce a teenager to the sewing machine during the vacations), or to transform a garment at the last minute before going out ❤️

👉For this DIY you need:

  • a top with long or three-quarter sleeves
  • a sewing machine
  • grosgrain ribbon (here approx. 3 m)
  • pins

👉 How do Ido it?

Easy peasy! First cut the sleeves to the desired length, hemming if necessary or folding inwards. Pin your ribbon to the sleeve, making sure to leave the opening where you want to make the ribbon bow. Stitch straight through the middle of the ribbon all the way around the sleeve, then move the fabric under the machine to stitch straight through again, 5 mm from the inner edge of the ribbon.

Do the same on the other side, positioning the ribbon in a mirror image. You can finish off with two small 5 mm hems at the end of your ribbons.

Make pretty bows... and... TA-DA!!!
