TUTO: DRAPED DRESS

It's DIY o'clock!Today's ULTRA-simple tutorial:sewing beginners, this is for you! And for the rest of you, you'll want to make a whole collection in every color :-)

Ultra-versatile, ultra-comfortable, this drape-dress even has two versions, and adapts to your size thanks to the elasticity of the jersey, and is so simple you can even hand-sew it on the vacation terrace. 💫

For this DIY, you need :
  • 3m jersey (here in 150cm width)
  • wire
  • a needle
  • scissors
  • pins
  • chalk or felt-tip pen to mark the fabric
  • and 20 minutes of your time :-)
What to do?

Fold the jersey lengthwise (with the fold on the side)

On the open side, make a mark 50 cm up, then another 50 cm down. Pin in between. Note: we chose 50 cm because we wanted a loose fit with a large notch on the sides. You can, of course, reduce the size to suit your own body type - just measure directly on yourself!

On the side with the fold, in the same way, make a mark at 50 cm from the top, then another at 50 cm from the bottom. Cut straight across the fold to each of the marks, i.e. from the top to the mark and from the bottom to the mark.

On the other side, the open side, return to your pinned part and hand-stitch it with simple, tight stitches.

Thread it on, and tie a knot on each side over your shoulder. You can already admire a version n°1 of the dress at this point! With the two bows on the shoulders, it's very loose, perfect for coming home from the beach :-)

For a more "elaborate" version, continue by first passing one of the knots over your head to create the asymmetry, then undo the other knot and re-tie as shown in the video around your waist.

And ... TA-DA !!!

Don't hesitate to do some tests and adapt these measurements to your body: you can modulate one of the openings according to your waist size, and the same goes for the length, so you can choose the one you want: mini, midi, maxi!
