RACONTE-NOUS DES SALADES #6
Happy Sunday evening, weasels! And here's the last crazy recipe of the week from my pal Antonin ... Antonin you've already met around here, him and his moustache in the last chapter of Make My party, remember... And we kept telling each other that we had to come up with a recipe together, because Antonin, between his two hundred activities, is also a cordon bleu... So I told him about my "Salad" project, THE SALAD PROJECT for those in the know, and that he had "carte blanche".
One Sunday, I arrived at his apartment/cabana/workshop and Antonin had me dreaming, preparing a fruit salad as light as a cloud and as full of vitamins as I could wish for (admittedly, I hadn't specified what kind of salad I wanted...). I'm delighted to be ending the week with him, a sort of culinary UFO, but in the end I think this salad looks just like him: efficient, tasty and minimal. This young man has many strings to his bow, and his latest baby is "Passion"a hot, ultra-inspiring fanzine...
Thanks to all participants for their recipes, their time and their generosity! THANK YOU, folks!
- Hello Antonin, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I'm a graphic artist and designer. I came to images through graphic design, but I'm also sensitive to objects, from a technical, aesthetic and functional point of view. I also sometimes collaborate with a culinary workshop, and otherwise, I ride my bike, whether it's down the Rue de Charonne or to Biarritz, sleeping in the fields...
- Tell us about your fanzine Passion?
Passion is a fanzine created to make public and possible the projects that have been sleeping for too long in drawers, hard drives or the meanders of a brain. There are five of us working on it. The fanzine allows us to realize certain desires, to make mistakes, to progress in our fields. We end up producing a common object, a medium for experimentation, the fruit of our way of life. As I'm passionate about "handmade", I've motivated my comrades to make the covers of an issue of Passion themselves, using eyelets to close the Fanzine, or hand-gluing "square" spines, edge-dyeing... Just to make each issue a beautiful object to keep... all on 300 numbered copies, please.
- Let's move on to your other passion: what was your first culinary Proust's madeleine?
My memory is unfortunately fickle, but one thing's for sure, my first slaps were sweet and sour, with our traditional Chèvre-miel or an accompaniment such as onions cooked in wine and raspberry.
- What triggered your decision to take care of yourself through food?
I like a body that exudes sport and health. Food plays an essential role in this. I'd like to say to you, "Your body isn't garbage, respect it.
- What's your favorite ingredient, the one you put everywhere with your eyes closed?
lemon/cinnamon/honey - ok that's not "one" but you made a rotten joke earlier, so I'm apologized in advance, ahahah!
- What's the dish you make yourself when the going gets tough (which also works for the aftermath of parties...)?
My baker is pretty sharp, he just came from Ladurée... I go down and get a good loaf of bread, some semi-salted butter, a velvet jam and there I am again.
- Your detox tips before and/or after the holidays?
A cup of hot water with lemon.
- Antonin, your heart sways between graphic design, design and cooking... I'm not in a position to ask you to make a choice, but if you had to confine yourself to just one passion, what would it be?
I'm not going to make cooking my profession, preferring to remain confined to the stage of sharing and conviviality. For me, graphics and design call on the same sensibilities as cooking, but on different media, and it's more in these areas that I express myself. On the other hand, I ask myself the same questions when I'm cooking as when I'm creating a layout or an object: efficiency, functionality, aesthetics... No frills or gratuitous artifice. Go for the essential. Nothing else, you might say.
